I wouldn't mind something on modern Ireland. I've recently read both A portrait of the Artist and Dubliners, and I'd like to get the whole Parnell thing down clearly.

I'd like to know more about Francisco Franco and the Spanish Civil War.

I would love to hear a show or two on the "Redneck Wars" and the Battle of Blair Mountain in West Virginia.
I have an idea. Why don't I do the podcast and send it to you? How do you do show notes? What all do I send?

I agree with all of the above, and of course, anything on the Civil War would be excellent and most appreciated (I really enjoyed the T.J. Jackson show from earlier this year). I'd love to do a podcast on the Battle of Gettysburg, but don't have the technology to do so.

I got the Ken Burns Civil War documentary series for Christmas... Hmmmmmmm... Perhaps there's a little inspiration in there somewhere.

Is there a way download previous posts, starting with number 1? I would like to listen to past posts. Is anyone willing to share who has been here since the beginning. ;D

Chris, Using blogger and iTunes to produce the podcast is free. However, the downfall is only the last 7 podcast are available via iTunes at any one time. You can visit the website historypodcast.blogspot.com to download older shows. Then just drag the downloaded files into your iTunes player. I am working on putting all the recent episodes on to CD so you can purchase it if you would like. The CD would have mp3 files on it so I can put on more episodes. That also makes it easier for you to drag the files from the CD into iTunes. Make sense? Hopefully, the ability to purchase CDs will be added to the website shortly. Thanks, Jason

I was watching Alfred Hitchthingy's North by Northwest today and thought an episode about Mount Rushmore would be interesting???

How about a podcast on the history of Northern Ireland? I think this podcast is brilliant as a friend is obsessed with Ice Hockey and at least now after listening to your podcast I can pretend like I know what he's talking about!! PS If you are interested in Northern Ireland, here is a wee football (soccer) website you should visit www.ourweecountry.co.uk/ Some interesting articles on main page but remember to check out the forum. Remember we beat the mighty England 1-0 last year! Yessssss! Colin

How about a podcast about the history of audio recordings, from those early cardboard spools to todays CDs and MP3s? It'd be fitting for the format, both since it's inherently connected and because it would allow for some of the old recordings to be played in the podcast (if any can be found).
