I recently discovered history podcast and so far have had a good time catching up on past shows.
But with the latest show, Naturopathy, I must way I have been greatly, greatly disapointed with the partial editorial line and I will remove your podcast from my list.
That some herbal remedies as well as other alternative treatments are effective is undeniable. And conventional medecine has some mishaps. But your choose to disseminate what could be described as blind propaganda - especially towards homeopathy, a pseudo-science that is not backed by any valid researchh whatsoever - is inexcusable.
The fact is that homeopathy is nothing more that superstition and placebo effects. If you find this comment obtuse, then do your own research.
Conventional medecine, while not perfect, is the only type of medecine based on verifyable, reproducable facts. It also has procedures for backing away from practices that prove unsuccesful in the long run. Doctors are also legally responsible and must stick to a common body of knowledge.
With naturopathy, though there are traditions that can serve as common body of knowledge, they are not necessarily backed by hard evidence and the treatment you receive depends on nothing other than the beliefs - yes, beliefs - of the person who treats you. It is up to him to follow the traditions or not and he is free to prescribe any snake oil he wants you to take.
Again, I am very disapointed in your show electing to spread such disinformation. I expect more, much more seriousness from a show on history.
