Hey Guys,
This has been a busy busy busy semester for me, and this summer I will be doing a Japanese summer langauge program. I have about a month where I want to contribute a couple podcast, so I thought I would ask if there are any request for some East Asian topics. I have a couple ideas in mind but wanted some feedback as to what other people would like to hear.

How about doing one on the "Rape of Nanking", or the dispute between Japan and Russia over the Kurile Islands, or the fight for Filipino independence?

Tom,
Just some suggestions.....I have had a request for Geisha. I think some other interesting episodes might be Samurai, and the failed attempts of Mongols to invade Japan.
Thanks, Jason

yeah I been thinking about the Rape of Nanking, even though i find it depressing, and the Mongol invasion of the Japan. Also I think the Genpei War would be interesting. I have one about ready on European expansion in East Asia I think will be interesting. In the Fall I'm taing a course on the samurai, so I may wait till then as I'm not sure how to share all that knoweldge in a 12 minute episode.

I just finished listening to episode 63 - The Rape of Nanjing and wanted to say thanks for acting on my suggestion so quickly. You did a great job Tom and I'm looking forward to future Asian history episodes from you. Good luck in your studies and learning the language!
